Why Choose CELTA in Cairo?

For many, Cairo seems like an unusual choice for a TEFL course, but it has a huge value to offer potential teachers. People are friendly and keen to welcome you to their country, and there is need for English teachers.

With a CELTA certificate, and depending on the type of school you work in, you can earn as much as 1,000 USD to 1,500 USD per month. Students range from children and adults to business professionals, all keen to improve their English skills. Most schools expect teachers to work a 20-30 hour week in the classroom and class preparation in addition. Jobs in international schools tend to pay more, and schools often prefer to interview you in person.

Cairo is not a particularly expensive city to live in, and many ESL teachers have a good standard of living. It’s a good idea to try to save a bit of money by shopping locally and eating in Egyptian owned caf√©s and restaurants; these will be cheaper than internationally owned businesses and can also mean you’re supporting the local economy.
